2011 PLAYER REGISTRATION FORM TRYOUT INFORMATION HRHS PROGRAM COSTS Welcome to the Highlands Ranch High School Gold Crown Program! Through our association with the Gold Crown Foundation, HRHS provides an opportunity for its future basketball stars to showcase their talents and improve their skills through increased gym time, focused coaching and competitive play. Now celebrating its 16th season, the Meadow Gold/Wells Fargo Competitive Basketball Program is the foremost competitive basketball league in Colorado for teams of sixth, seventh and eighth grade boys and girls. Roster rules are designed to build teams of student-athletes from the same geographic area who will end up going to high school together in their communities. Each grade level features two divisions: "Gold" and "Silver" in an effort to level the playing court. Last year, 500 teams from the Denver Metro area and all across the Colorado Front Range participated in this program, making it the largest middle school basketball program in Colorado and one of the largest in the United States. This year, the program looks to continue its great tradition with more than 500 teams projected to participate. At HRHS, we anticipate fielding six boys teams - a 6th grade, 7th grade and 8th grade in each of the "Gold" and "Silver" divisions. However, we have fielded more or fewer teams based upon turnout and talent. This is a competitive format; therefore, we limit the program to those young men with the desire and aptitude to take their game to the next level. The season starts off with our participation in the Fall JAM league that runs from September to October with games on Sundays. We follow with the Gold Crown Tip Off tournament in November and the Gold Crown Holiday tournament in December. Finally, the official Gold Crown season runs from January to March. We understand that September through December players may have commitments to other sports, including football and soccer. Until the official Gold Crown season starts, we recognize that basketball will be a "secondary" sport. However, starting in January we ask for your full commitment to the program, both for practices and games. Practices are held at Cresthill Middle School and Collegiate Academy (Kipling and C470) throughout the year. Practice days/times will vary and will be determined once all teams have been selected. Additional information can be found by following the links on the left side of the page. If you any questions or are interested in coaching, please contact our Gold Crown Coordinator.
