1. Concern for players, staff members, and all those associated with, or take an interest in our program here at Highlands Ranch. Hopefully those people involved with our basketball program can gain many positive things, which will be of value to them in all aspects of their lives. We also plan to conduct our program in such a way that we earn the respect and support of parents, students, teachers, and the citizens of the community.

GOALS OF OUR PROGRAM
A. To give those who participate an opportunity to become a better person.
B. To achieve success. Success is the self-satisfaction that comes from knowing that we did everything within our power to become the very best that each of us could become.
C. A planned program which is geared towards the success and accomplishment of those involved.
D. An enjoyable activity that allows the young men who participate the opportunity to develop their physical potential as a basketball player.
E. To have an open door policy in which players can come to coaches with problems and concerns.
F. To invite parents to discuss with coaches any aspect of our program.
G. To understand that criticism is going to be a part of any basketball program experience, if the goals are excellence and winning.

2. The NUMBER ONE quality that players must possess is a positive attitude. This not only includes basketball, but school and other activities as well. A players attitude is the most important guideline on which we judge him.

3. ENTHUSIASM: We expect players and coaches to be involved because they enjoy the game and want to contribute to the ultimate success of the team. We expect our older players to set a positive example for our younger players so our program grows stronger

4. DESIRE TO SUCCEED: The will to prepare to win and the desire to succeed can make up for a multitude of shortcomings. Our program will be based on these principles.
1) Team before self
2) Dedication
3) Conditioning
4) Fundamentals

5. DISCIPLINE: We will establish a code of ethics, which will be followed at all levels of our program. We feel the commitment we ask of our players is very important if we are to be successful. All people involved in our program will know what is expected of them on and off the court. No person is more important than the total program.

6. LOYALTY: We expect all people involved in our program to exhibit a loyal attitude. This is our, not my team. We can express this in many ways:
A. Put the success of the team above individual accomplishments.
B. Realize the role you may have on the team and encourage others.
C. Stand up for our team or teammates because you believe in what we are trying to accomplish.
D. Be honest and loyal with all those who are depending on you.
E. Do something to help someone else achieve without expecting a reward.
F. Coaches will actively seek college scholarship offers for those players who are deserving.

7. GROWTH QUALITIES OF A SUCCESSFUL PROGRAM
A) Hard work and dedication to the program. Players and coaches involvement in off-season camps, leagues, and clinics to improve skills and coaching knowledge. Off-season programs will be made available to those players who voluntarily choose to participate.
B) Organization: Everyone reacts better in an environment where the expectations are clearly mapped out
C) Have individual and team meeting on a regular basis. Communication is a must between player and coach if we are going to establish the correct relationship and understanding which go into making a successful program.
D) We understand that just because it worked last year does not necessarily mean it is good enough. Be open-minded; always look for a better way.
